Olathe Man Gets 7 Years In Child Porn Sting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oct. 3, 2012

KANSAS CITY, KAN. – An Olathe man has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison in a child pornography case, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said.

Marc Dolgenow, 46, Olathe, Kan., pleaded guilty to receiving and distributing child pornography. In his plea, he admitted that in November 2009 he began chatting on the Internet with an individual in Wisconsin who Dolgenow believed was a single mother of two young girls. In fact, the other person was an officer working undercover.

Dolgenow sent the officer photographs of children engaged in sexual acts. He asked for similar photos of the agent’s daughters. On Jan. 7, 2011, agents served a search warrant at Dolgenow’s home in Olathe. They seized child pornography from his computer, including images of children as young as two years old. Agents also obtained evidence that Dolgenow had chatted in a sexual manner with children under 18 years old.

Grissom commended the FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Martin for their work on the case.
